Matthew Hawkins is a filmmaker and a writer, as well as a lecturer in Media Production at Coventry University. His research interests are focused on film practice, narrative, meaning and the body. His practice spans the fields of documentary, narrative cinema, and experimental film and video. His research methods, and film practice have been implemented on funded research projects, such as Place, Culture and Film (Leverhulme, project lead, Prof. Isabel Dyck, Queen Mary) and Beyond the School Gates (Food Standard Agency Scotland, project lead Prof. Wendy Wills, Hertfordshire University).
